How carrier appointments work on Alvara
Traditional independent agents spend months applying to individual carriers, negotiating commission rates, meeting production minimums, and managing separate portals for each one. Alvara handles all of that.
When you join, we submit appointment requests with every carrier on our panel. Within 7 days of your license being active, you'll have access to quote and bind with all of them through a single dashboard. We negotiate the rates at scale and pass 80% of the commission through to you.
Our carrier panel covers standard markets (homeowners, auto, renters, umbrella) and specialty markets across personal and commercial lines. We're continuously adding carriers based on producer demand and market gaps.
